Is Technology My Friend?

I have decided to shut down this blog.  I wanted to do it without saying anything, but I thought that maybe a few of you would like to hear for me before I press delete...those who read regularly.

Two of my posts will be available at the new Illumination Learning website.  Orthodox Homeschooling I & II.  I am honored so many of you read these posts and enjoyed them.  It is my pleasure to share them with Jennifer.

The post that received the most traffic was But really, how do I do this?  I reread this fun post this morning and realized that I need to add one to the list...I do not blog...at least not right now.  I told a fellow blogging friend in an email that when my kids were older maybe I could have an inspirational blog like hers.  Her blog is one of the main reasons I decided to blog myself.  It is a wonderful space.

I have been here before.  Remember this post?  See you later, alligator.

Well, I should have went with my gut on that one.  I should have let it go.  But, I didn't.  And this is no judgement on anyone else.  Other mommy bloggers are able to manage their time better, to be moderate, and to be a wonderful resource for all of us. But for whatever reason I just cannot manage it.  And it really has to do with me not being able to be moderate.  Technology is such a temptation for me.  I am really limiting all of my internet usage.

My favorite post was A Safe Haven.  I still believe that technology can be used for good...to glorify God...and to make friends.  I have met many wonderful women because of this blog.  It has been fun!

And although I will miss sharing in this space, I feel so GOOD about this decision.  I am excited about this next school year and exploring with my kids.  I am excited about settling my brain down.

Thank you for spending time here...for commenting and sharing.  I just loved seeing a new comment in my inbox!  Hope all you home school mothers have a wonderful, relaxing summer.  I know I am going to try!

  1. I'm sorry to see you go. But I completely understand the need to cut back on technology. I struggle with that as well. God bless you and your beautiful family.
